Health Services

MAPS has provided a variety of health-related services, mostly in the areas of HIV/AIDS and Substance Abuse prevention and treatment, for more than a decade. The Division of Health Services is divided into two sections: Education/Prevention Services and Care & Treatment Services.

Education and Prevention Services

Youth Programs, including Youth Development, Substance Abuse Prevention, HIV Peer Leadership and Violence Prevention for Portuguese-speaking adolescents;

HIV/AIDS Outreach and Education, especially geared toward high-risk members of our Portuguese-speaking communities;

Massachusetts HIV Resource Guide

The Cape Verdean Women's Initiative, providing educational outreach on reproductive health; and

The Community Health Project, including outreach, education and screening referrals around issues of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, breast and cervical cancer.

Care and Treatment Services:
