To become a MAPS member, you should be of Portuguese-speaking descent, the spouse of an individual of Portuguese-speaking descent or demonstrate fluency in Portuguese. You must be at least 14 years old and a resident of eastern Massachusetts. Other individuals may become members by majority vote of the MAPS Board of Directors.

*MAPS uses PayPal to process its online donations. We do this because PayPal is an established and trusted leader of credit card services worldwide. When you make a donation a new window pops up asking you how much you'd like to give to MAPS.

Because this window is coming directly from PayPal, and not MAPS, it may take a few seconds to load. All credit card and billing information you supply when donating to MAPS is encrypted and submitted from your browser to PayPal using an encrypted SSL (Secure Socket Layer) transmission. Because PayPal is responsible for processing your donation, they will ask you for information such as your name and address, email address, and credit card details.

The only information PayPal provides MAPS with is: your name, your email address, your shipping address, and any special instructions you may have typed. We never see any of your credit card details.
