MAPS 13TH ANNUAL AWARDS GALA
The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) presented awards
to five community leaders and volunteers on May 6 at the organization's 13th Annual Awards Gala,
held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Natick. All five were honored for helping Portuguese speakers
and other Massachusetts immigrants on a variety of issues.

A Tribute to Rep. Deborah Blumer
The MAPS community was saddened by the sudden death of state Rep. Deborah Blumer of Framingham, the MAPS Person of the Year, in the fall of 2006. She was a true friend to our community and will be greatly missed.
