MAPS Domestic Violence Prevention Worker Wins
Award
CAMBRIDGE, MA -- MAY 15, 2002 --
Lucieny Passamani, a domestic violence prevention advocate for the
Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS), will receive
an Outstanding Community Service Award from the Brazilian Community
Association at the BCA's second annual International Night gala
celebration in Framingham May 31. The event will take place at the
Windham Westborough Hotel, 5400 Computer Drive, Westborough, MA
from 7 p.m. to 12 midnight.
"We're very proud of Lucieny and very
happy that she is being recognized for her hard work and unquestionable
dedication to our community," said MAPS Executive Director Paulo
Pinto.
Passamani provides domestic violence
prevention information, referrals, counseling, advocacy and other
services to Portuguese speakers throughout the greater Boston area.

at $40 per person. All proceeds will benefit the BCA and its varied
program of education, aid, day care, scholarships and other assistance
to the Brazilian community in the MetroWest area.

communities to increase access and remove barriers to health, education
and social services through direct services, advocacy, leadership
and community development. The organization was founded in 1970
