CAMBRIDGE, MA -- October 18, 2002 --
Free tobacco cessation treatment is available to the Brazilian community of Allston and Brighton through a program provided by the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) and the Allston-Brighton Healthy Boston Coalition. The program, involving nicotine replacement therapy, lasts approximately eight weeks and requires patients to visit the Allston treatment site every seven to 15 days.
For more information, please call Paula Bronzoni at the MAPS Allston office, (617) 787-0557. MAPS has provided health and social services to Portuguese speakers in eastern Massachusetts since 1970.
