MAPS Plans Community Meeting Nov. 13 on Cambridge Street Reconstruction

CAMBRIDGE, MA -- October 29, 2002 -- The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) invites community members to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the MAPS Cambridge office to learn about the Cambridge Street Roadway and Sidewalk Reconstruction Project. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at MAPS, 1046 Cambridge St., Cambridge, second floor.

The reconstruction project area runs from Camelia Ave. near Inman Square to the Monsignor O'Brien Highway (Route 28). Included in the project are new sidewalks, a new roadway, additional pedestrian lighting and the renovation of several small parks along Cambridge Street.

Presentations will be made at the meeting by representatives of the Cambridge Public Works Department. Portuguese interpretation will be provided and residents are invited to ask questions about the project. For more information, please call MAPS at (617) 864-7600. MAPS is a private, nonprofit organization that has provided health and social services to Portuguese speakers since 1970.
